We are looking for a dedicated and organized individual to join our team, where you'll play a key role in the daily operations of our donation-based retail environment. Key responsibilities include sorting and pricing donations, ensuring items are appropriately categorized and displayed for sale. Additionally, you will oversee employee management, providing guidance and support to team members to maintain an efficient workflow. Excellent customer service is a must, as you'll interact with a diverse range of patrons, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Position Objectives:
To oversee the operations of Hill Country Community Ministries' Thrift Store located in Leander, TX. HCCM Thrift Store will serve as a major funding source for HCCM's programs.
Outcomes:
Assist with overseeing operations and success of Thrift Store
Help manage and direct the sales performance of the store
Communicative – Daily communication with Thrift Store Manager on store performance, success and challenges; consistent communication with volunteers/community regarding needs
Team Player – recruit, train and mentor staff and volunteers
Marketing – regular social media posts (sales, donations, needs)
Tasks and responsibilities:
1. Coordinate, schedule and manage furniture donation deliveries and pickups.
2. Work with the Store Manager to utilize and analyze sales reports for optimal store performance.
3. Coordinate and manage staff, volunteers and their schedules and assigned duties.
4. Train volunteers in thrift store duties.
5. Operate a cash register, reconcile register drawers
6. Recruit donations and otherwise support fundraising activities of the ministry in coordination with the Store Manager.
7. Uphold the cash handling policy and properly execute the procedures.
8. Be responsible for the positive image of the thrift store and promoting its purpose in the ministry of HCCM initiatives, to the community.
9. Utilize educational opportunities to further professional development.
10. Understand and comply with HCCM's Policies and Procedures.
11. Maintain confidentiality for every HCCM client.
12. Advocate for the clients, with the customer base as well as the community.
14. Perform other duties as assigned including daily social media posts and monthly newsletters
Qualifications:
1. 2+ years of retail and management experience.
2. Familiarity with merchandise promotion and sales techniques.
3. Experience managing staff and volunteers in a retail environment.
4. Genuine enthusiasm for the success of HCCM and an ability to communicate that enthusiasm to the community.
5. Be in good physical condition and be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
6. Must be able to pass background check; no convictions of theft, not be the perpetrator in a substantiated report of neglect or abuse.
7. Able to maintain proper confidentiality for each client.
8. Must have valid TX Driver's License.
