Tour Assistant

In this role as an Santa Clara Vanguard, Tour Assistant, you will report directly to the SCV Corps Manager and SCV Corps Director. You will work closely with the SCV Management team to execute the logistics plan for the SCV pre-tour and summer tour. You will primarily work with one caption of the corps at a time (brass, percussion, color guard) to assist the Caption Managers with the needs of the membership.

SCV Tour Assistants Responsibilities:

• Support and assist Management staff with any clerical tasks such as copies, member information and other day-to-day needs
• Assist in maintaining the presentation of the daily tour schedule, Slack channels, and other logistic information
• Assist with general rehearsal day and show day logistics. These include: equipment maintenance, uniform laundry, setting up Amana for meals, and checking on the fleet
• Assist in making sure that the trucks and buses are loaded for an on-time departure from all shows and housing sites. (Equipment Truck, Amana, Prop Truck, member buses)
• Ride on a member bus to/from shows. At least one caption assistant will ride to the next housing site with the corps membership
• Up with the membership at all times
• Assist with projects as assigned by Corps Management
• Assist transportation assistants only when needed with travel logistics including but not limited to: airport shuttles, shopping runs for Amana, and doctors visits

Location & Schedule:

Tour Assistants will travel full-time with breaks with Vanguard from May 25th through August 10th. Meals, lodging and travel will be provided for this position.

Compensation:

All corps-related travel, housing, and meal expenses will be covered by Vanguard. Personal travel and meal expenses are not covered.

Qualifications:

• Age 22 or older, 25 or older if operating and driving a company vehicle
• A driver's license is not required; however, all Tour Administration Staff with valid driver’s licenses will be added to SCV vehicle insurance

Experience:

• At least one year of participation in a performing arts unit desired, preferably with WGI and/or DCI components
• At least one year of DCI/WGI or other related administration experience is desired
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Evernote, and Slack; strong email and written communication skills

Pay: $400.00 - $525.00 per week
