Trainer
Location: Saginaw, MI
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver training programs for staff, volunteers, and community members on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
- Developmental needs of children
- Child management techniques
- Basic group dynamics
- Appropriate discipline, crisis intervention, and child handling techniques
- Interpersonal communication
- Customer service
- Effective communication
- Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE) training
- Recipient rights
- Mandated reporter training
- De-escalation techniques
- Responding to life-threatening situations
- Trauma-informed care
- Professionalism and boundaries
- Cultural Competency
- Health Hygiene
- Legal and ethical
- Develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, and handouts, that are engaging and informative.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and observation, and adjust programs accordingly to ensure they meet the needs of participants.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics, and make improvements as needed.
- Stay current with best practices and new developments in relevant subject areas.
- Provide coaching and support to staff to help them apply training concepts in their daily work.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure training programs align with the agency's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the subject matters listed above.
- Previous experience in training or teaching roles, particularly in child welfare or social services settings.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging and effective training materials.
- Commitment to the mission and values of House of Love Agency.
- Flexibility to adapt training programs to meet diverse needs and learning styles.
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., SOGIE training, trauma-informed care) is a plus.
Compensation:
· Hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
