Position Description

TRAINING AND RESOURCE ASSISTANT

Description:
The Training and Resource Assistant supports the Training Coordinator by providing administrative services, managing supply and rental inventories, and assisting with the maintenance of facilities and equipment. This role involves working with customers, supporting other staff, and handling a variety of tasks related to training operations, inventory management, and general maintenance.

Duties

Training and Event Support:

  • Assist in coordinating and promoting EMS courses, the annual symposium, and other events.
  • Support the production of training materials, including quarterly reports, monthly calendars, and course notices.
  • Respond to training-related inquiries, complaints, and requests for information.
  • Teach CPR classes as necessary or scheduled.

Billing and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with Accounting to process training-related billing and internal accounting tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, such as training calendars and performance summaries.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

  • Manage the training and rental library, including supply and equipment requests.
  • Handle point-of-sale transactions for rentals and supplies, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Maintain and monitor warehouse inventory, preparing purchase requisitions and managing inventory levels.
  • Conduct quality inspections, repair equipment, and rotate stock as necessary.
  • Oversee the storage and disposal of hazardous materials, drugs, and expiration-dated items.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers to fulfill rental and supply requests.
  • Ensure the proper handling of rental equipment, coordinating with management to restock as needed.

Facilities and Equipment Maintenance:

  • Clean, repair, and maintain medical kits, training equipment, and facility grounds.
  • Assist in minor repairs.
  • Coordinate vehicle and equipment inspections, licensing, and certifications.

Administrative Assistance:

  • Provide support for the AHA Training Center, including managing databases, controlling card issuance, and maintaining instructor files.
  • Assist with answering phones, greeting visitors, and other office duties as needed.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to safety guidelines for the storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Other Duties:

  • Perform special projects and other related activities as requested by management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 18 or over
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license with a clean record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of full-time office experience, including at least one year of clerical services or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and business computer software (word processing, web searching, email systems).
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unaided.
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification and become a CPR Instructor within 6 months of hire.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE ANDEXPERIENCE:

  • Six months of experience in supply, inventory management, sales, or rentals.
  • Training or experience as an EMT or higher.
  • Familiarity with accounting, inventory, sales software, and Google applications.
  • Experience in maintaining EMS equipment.

Pay: $19.03 - $19.79 per hour
