Primary Job Function

As a HVAC Technician you will provide HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

Please note that this position involves frequent, long-term travel.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with AVM installers with tools on to build projects to design specifications.
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Accurately document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and take pictures as necessary.
  • Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
  • Perform maintenance or start-up procedures on HVAC units for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
  • Install controls, control cabling, sensors, or likewise necessary for proper HVAC system function.
  • Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Install heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
  • Prepare written materials (ie. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
  • Repair heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (ie. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a controlled environment as per project specifications.
  • Operate and maintain the building automation system.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Estimate time and material costs on HVAC projects.
  • Requisition HVAC supplies and equipment.
  • Develop, under management supervision, capital project scope and budget for equipment replacements.
  • Perform additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

This role requires the following skills experience:

  • Minimum of eight years construction and/or craft supervision experience in similar commercial facility construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
  • EPA CFC Universal Certificate

Compensation

  • Starting salary of $75,000 per year.
  • Full company paid health benefits.
  • 401K plan with % match following 1 year of employment.
  • 25% profit sharing eligibility following 1 year of employment. Plan has reached full contribution every year since 2015.
  • Per Diem and Lodging per the written company travel plan.
