AVM Group is a commercial construction company located in Cleveland, OH that specializes in Interior Systems, Controlled Environments, Radiation Shielding and Mechanical Systems.

Primary Job Function

As an Union-Based Traveling Carpenter at AVM Group, you will specialize in assembling complex hardwall and softwall controlled environments for a wide variety of clients across the United States.

Please note this position requires short and long-term out of state travel. Because of this, AVM offers incentive pay of an additional $2 per hour over union rate, and lodging and per deim is included when on the road.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting architectural blueprints, diagrams, and plans.
• Inspecting the integrity of structures upon their installation.
• Monitoring inventory and replenishing supplies, as needed.
• Complying with all applicable safety regulations.
• Training and managing apprentices and subordinates
• Installing building materials to industry standards.
• Maintaining strong communication with home office on project status and quality.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

This role requires the following skills experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program for Journeyman.
• Basic hand and power tool skills.
• Ability to take accurate measurements with tape measure.
• Valid driver’s license and personal transportation.
• Good math and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding critical thinking skills.
• Capable of working long hours.
• Physically fit and able to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and rigging.
• Experience in working with softwall and hardwall materials in a controlled environment.
• Experience in direct interaction or contact with client or customer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
