Utility Laborer - 1st or 3rd Shift

G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Abbottstown, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for a Utility Person. Be a part of our continued Growth & Success at G&S Foods! Our Utility Person position is full-time position with a stable work shift throughout the year and great benefits including attendance bonuses and employee appreciation events!

The Utility Person is a reliable team member responsible for preparing cartons, packing our product, perform final quality inspections and palletizing of product.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare cardboard trays for product packing by supplying the packing station, stapling carton ends together, and placing trays on the work table
• Ensure that products are packaged in boxes with appropriate corresponding labels, place proper quantities of product in each carton
• Inspect final product before packing by checking bag weights, codes and prices, bag and caddy seals
• Stack completed boxes on pallets
• Remove completed pallets from the line and utilize a machine to shrink wrap pallet
• Remove unsuitable product and communicate persistent packaging problems to supervisor
• Assist in pretzel making and processing as needed
• Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and standards
• Ensure that work areas are clean at the end of the shift each day and help prepare lines for next day’s production or for the next shift

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• No previous experience required (We will do all the training!)
• Enjoy working in an team environment
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures (hot or cold)

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to fifty (50) pounds
• Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Shift Times:

• 1st shift, $18.12/hour: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
• 3rd shift, $19.12/hour: Sunday to Thursday, 11:00pm-7:00am
