Full job description

CASA for York County is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in York, NE. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for York County provides volunteer-based advocacy to children in the York County court system who are victims of abuse and neglect.

The Volunteer Program Administrator performs a wide range of activities to facilitate effective operation of the organization. This include the professional staff support of CASA volunteers to ensure that children involved with CASA for York receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Volunteer Program Coordinator, together with the Executive Director, is responsible for volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and coordination of cases.

Job Duties include:

  • Actively recruit, screen, interview and train new volunteers.
  • Review new cases and assign appropriate volunteers in consultation with the Executive Director.
  • Prepare and distribute court reports and other case-related documentation.
  • Help develop initial court reports and on-going strategies for advocacy.
  • Maintain complete case files.
  • Attend court hearings and track court dates.
  • Provide assistance and consultation for volunteers when needed and requested.
  • Assist in completion of volunteer data sheets and update CASA Manager data program.
  • Facilitate volunteer evaluations as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Perform general clerical duties including copying, scanning, mailing, record keeping, filing, screening telephone calls and data entry
  • Assist with the planning and execution of public relations, volunteer support events, and fundraisers
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including those related to inclusion and diversity
  • Attend in-service trainings and assist with coordination if requested.
  • Provide office coverage as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Attend conferences/trainings/meetings as requested by the Executive Director.
  • Participate in performance evaluations of this position.
  • Represent CASA on community related panels and committees.
  • Special projects/duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
