Jewish Family Service is a 134-year-old non-profit organization providing social services to individuals and families in the Jewish and greater communities of the Puget Sound region. We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Community Connections team. This full-time (37.5 hours per week) position is responsible for the recruitment, screening, and placement of volunteers to support programs and clients at Jewish Family Service as well as spearheads our group volunteering programming. In this role, you will work closely across all JFS programs and will be the main contact for volunteers. This position is hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in office) located at the Seattle office on Capitol Hill. This position involves evening and weekend hours throughout the year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a list of current volunteer opportunities and job descriptions in the database and proactively recruits volunteers using a variety of outreach and marketing tools.
- Responds to volunteer inquiries in a timely manner and provides ongoing follow-up communication with potential candidates with a high level of customer service.
- Coordinates the volunteer application process, including intake phone calls and background checks.
- Manages and tracks volunteer data including individual records, hours and interactions.
- Manages volunteer programs, recognition, and education, including meeting with staff, volunteer communication and coordination. Ex. Shabbat Meal Delivery Program, Eastside Meal Delivery and Mitzvah Meals.
- Manages suite of Volunteer Services signature events including coordinating the Giftbag Series, Family & Teen Volunteer Day and plays a supporting role in the Food Sort, overseeing the volunteers.
- Supports ongoing volunteer program evaluation and development.
- Creates and updates volunteer collateral including handbooks, job descriptions, training materials and applications.
- Builds strong relationships within the Jewish community with organizations such as congregations and youth groups.
- Partners with the Community Connections team (Project Kavod), to infuse learning and reflection into the volunteer experience.
- This position requires regularly lifting or carrying of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a College or University with at least 2 years of related experience and/or 2 to 3 years non-profit related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with volunteers a plus.
- Meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, one-on-one, and independently. Ability to think creatively and flexibly.
- Experience working with volunteers and/or event planning is a plus.
- Ability to travel locally and regularly work after hours and/or weekend hours during peak times of year.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and online tools and project management software. Prior experience with Get Connected, Every Action, Salesforce and/or ASANA is preferred.
- Knowledge of Judaism and local Jewish community and prior non-profit experience are pluses.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The pay for this position is $30.26 - $36.98 an hour.
