Tighe Logistics Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Vice President of Business Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategies to drive business growth. This individual will be responsible for directing the development and execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes that will drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish the organization's financial objectives. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the industry and market trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a business development strategy, identify and maintain a pipeline of potential customers, and drive business sales.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate, and close business deals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support business development strategy.
  • Contact potential customers to establish a business relationship and meet with them.
  • Generate new business opportunities through market research and analysis.
  • Develop a wide network of contacts to keep informed about current and future industry and market actions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry partners.
  • Research and analyze the business environments, competitors, and customers to develop ideas for new services, pricing, and business models.
  • Train junior salespeople to improve sales goals and meet expectations.

Educational Background and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a similar field.
  • 8+ years of sales experience in a 3PL environment or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency using a CRM software and Microsoft Suite programs, experience using a WMS a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to meet goals and set priorities.
  • Proactive and organized individual; ability to handle work in stressful and uncertain environments.
