Unleash Global Horizons: Join Us as a World Languages Teacher and Shape Tomorrow’s Global Citizens!

We are seeking a passionate and innovative World Languages Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to teach a diverse range of languages and contribute to the development of essential communication skills for our students. We welcome applicants proficient in all world languages, including American Sign Language (ASL), to apply and share their expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging language lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students with behavioral and learning disabilities.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and assistive technologies to support language learning and comprehension.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching methods and strategies aligning to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
  • Provide individualized instruction including the appropriate accommodations and modifications in accordance with the student’s annual IEP.
  • Collaborate with grade level, content areas, and paraprofessionals as a continuum of effective instruction.
  • Utilize a student-centered instructional approach, integrating technology to maximize engagement and reduce or close learning gaps.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and/or other relevant personnel with updates on student progress, areas of strengths and concerns.
  • Adhere to the school’s behavior management program in collaboration with school personnel, including crisis intervention teams and clinicians.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in language education and special education.

Requirements:

  • Possess an NJDOE CE, CEAS, Provisional or Standard Teacher Certification with World Languages Endorsement
  • Bachelor's Degree in World Languages, Education, or related field
  • Classroom experience and experience working with students with behavioral challenges is highly preferred
  • Self-directed, collaborative, and able to develop positive working relationships with staff, students, caregivers, and other education agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of content area concepts and principles across various grade levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for working with students and helping them achieve their academic goals
  • Must obtain a NJDOE Criminal History Background Check Approval
  • Tuberculosis testing required
