SUMMARY:

Yen Press, one of the largest publishers of manga, manhwa, light novels, and original graphic novels in the North American market, is seeking a Marketing Assistant to help manage its rapidly growing list of manga and light novels. The Marketing Assistant will support the Marketing Team in areas that include publicity, social media, website, advertising, and approvals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Overseeing the marketing team’s licensor approval process for social media content, ads, and convention-related creatives.

· Overseeing the Marketing Team’s customer service efforts, both in general and specific to the YenPress.com webstore, through email and social media communication.

· Assisting Yen Press social media efforts by scheduling posts in Buffer and creating and curating content on a limited basis.

· Administrative tasks related to the website, such as loading covers and promotional images and notifying the website developers on weekly updates.

· Drafting blog content to promote key Yen Press releases on a limited basis.

· Assisting with Yen Press advertising efforts by providing ad partners with completed creatives and communicating with relevant representatives.

· Assisting with Yen Press publicity efforts by handling monthly mailings of review copies to reviewers and influencers and handling communication with publicity partners on a limited basis.

· Supporting webstore efforts by adding new titles to Shopify and YenPress.com, overseeing inventory levels of webstore titles, and communicating with Hachette Book Group for inventor management purposes.

· Supporting the company’s convention presence by staffing the Yen Press booth at key events.

· Additional marketing tasks, as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Internship experience in a professional environment required, preferably from a publishing and/or entertainment industry in a marketing/publicity role.
  • Attention to detail and punctuality required.
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social networking sites.
  • Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and other design programs preferred.
  • Knowledge, interest, and passion in manga and comics is a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
