Full job description

Overview
The position of the behavioral health professional provides services designed to modify the psychological, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social factors affecting a youth client's functioning. These services are typically provided in 1-2 hour increments in the youth's home or school.

Taught interventions may include skills for: effective functioning with family, peers, and community, cognitive flexibility skills, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, emotional regulation skills & problem-solving skills.

In addition to providing direct services to the youth client, direct services may also include the youth's family. Family training skills are taught to enhance the family’s ability to effectively interact with the client and support the client's functioning in the home and community, and to teach parents/guardians to identify and implement strategies to reduce target behaviors and reinforce the appropriate skills.

Duties

  • Documentation of client sessions/content on company's electronic medical records
  • Direct work teaching behavioral health skills and strategies to youth client(s) and their family members using evidence-based treatments
  • Assistance in developing client's treatment and implementation plan and monitoring progress
  • Participation in weekly case consultation/supervision
  • Communicate with teacher(s), therapist(s) and others involved in client's treatment as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in social sciences field plus 1 year experience, or 20 hours training in child mental health
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a non-social science field plus 2 year's experience, or 30 hours training in child mental health

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 15 per week
