Youth and Family Ministries Assistant

Job Overview

The Youth and Families Ministries (YFM) Assistant supports the YFM Director in the creation and implementation of programs that serve the youth and families of Unity on the Bay. This includes Sunday children’s programming, youth groups, community events and holiday activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Help develop and supervise programs to benefit all family dynamics including young families, single parents, children, youth, and young adults.
• Prepare and teach curriculum for Sunday children’s programming, youth group, and family classes as needed.
• Recruit, train, and retain facilitators and volunteers as needed.
• Support outreach to other youth organizations for collaboration and support.
• Assist with administrative duties
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience
Candidates should have experience working with children in various capacities. Preferred qualifications include:

• Ability to maintain confidentiality with personal information and use good judgment in sharing information with church leadership when deemed necessary
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Computer skills necessary for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and worship-related programs.

Requirements:

• Must be available to work Sundays- 8:30am-1:00pm
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must pass background check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 12 per week
