Full job description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Volleyball Coach to work with children ages 7-12. The ideal candidate has experience in teaching volleyball fundamentals and can create an engaging, supportive environment where young athletes can develop their skills, teamwork, and love for the game. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to helping them reach their full potential on and off the court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver coaching sessions: Develop and conduct age-appropriate volleyball drills, practices, and games that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Teach fundamentals: Provide instruction on the essential techniques, rules, and positions of volleyball, ensuring that all participants build a strong foundation in the sport.
- Create an enjoyable environment: Foster a fun, inclusive, and energetic atmosphere that motivates children to participate and enjoy learning the game of volleyball.
- Focus on skill progression: Track the development of each child’s abilities, providing individualized feedback to help them improve their game.
- Promote teamwork and sportsmanship: Encourage cooperation, respect, and fair play, teaching children how to work together as a team and support their peers.
- Ensure safety: Supervise all activities to maintain a safe playing environment, teaching proper techniques to prevent injuries.
- Communicate with parents: Keep parents informed of their child’s progress and upcoming events, and provide guidance on how they can support their child’s development.
- Maintain equipment and facilities: Set up, manage, and properly store volleyball equipment. Ensure all equipment is safe and in good condition.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience coaching volleyball, particularly with children aged 7-12. Knowledge of youth sports development is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A background in physical education, sports science, or related fields is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, patience, and the ability to engage young athletes. Expertise in volleyball techniques, positions, and game strategies.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required but don't worry we'll help you out!
- Physical Requirements: Ability to actively participate in volleyball activities, including demonstrating techniques, running drills, and standing for extended periods.
Additional Requirements:
- A passion for teaching volleyball to young athletes and helping them grow both on and off the court.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for all participants, regardless of skill level.
- Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week
