Today’s tech hiring landscape is extremely competitive—and as technological innovation continues to transform multiple industries, the demand for qualified candidates will only rise. In fact, one study suggests that there may be as many as one million more computing jobs than there are applicants who can fill them by 2020. With a talent gap like this, it can be tough for companies to find tech workers with the skills they need.

In 2016, to help close this gap, we launched Seen by Indeed (previously Indeed Prime), a subscription-based service that gives employers access to pre-vetted talent ranging from software engineers to product managers to data scientists. Seen by Indeed vets tech workers based on their skills, education and work experience to ensure that employers are matched with high caliber candidates for their roles—gaining access to talent they wouldn’t usually see through traditional university recruiting, staffing agencies or job postings.

Since the service was launched, Seen candidates have received more than 85,000 offers. With results like these, we want to help even more employers find the tech talent they need. And so today we are announcing the addition of a new, free Basic plan that will extend the accessibility of Seen to individual users from smaller companies.

Free access to pre-vetted candidates with the Basic plan

The new Basic plan is a free, limited version of Seen for individuals from smaller companies who hire 1-10 tech roles per year. Recruiters, hiring managers and CTOs at these firms will have a version of Indeed Seen that gives them free and unlimited access to our pool of pre-vetted candidates which is updated daily, but without the robust feature set available to those with paid, subscription-based plans.

This Basic plan will allow those who are not yet familiar with Seen to try out the service at no cost. And if employers want to gain an additional edge when it comes to hiring tech talent, then it is easy to upgrade to a subscription plan.  

Early contact with candidates and other benefits of a subscription plan

Employers with a subscription plan get first access to candidates, 14 days before those using the Basic plan see them. This brings significant advantages: Indeed data shows that 75% of hires on Seen resulted from contacts made within the first 14 days on the platform. Furthermore, 80% of candidates hired on Seen are hired by one of the first five companies they engage with.

In addition, employers with a subscription plan can track and optimize their tech recruiting through Seen's employer dashboard and self-serve recruiting analytics. They can quickly access response rates, rejection reasons and contact volume by an individual or team, identifying which recruiters and roles are gaining traction, as well as which areas need improvement.

Subscription plans support collaboration with co-workers through linked accounts, making it easier to see which candidates have already been contacted. They also offer ATS integration, and a dedicated account manager with a technical recruiting background to provide helpful custom sourcing and candidate intel.

A plan for every kind of user

Currently we have two subscription-based plans for Seen, to suit different needs.

The Essential plan is for up to five users who typically hire 1-10 tech roles per year. The Enterprise plan is for an unlimited number of users who hire 11+ tech roles per year. Both provide access to the full range of features.
