It’s been an unusual year, to say the least.
Starting in the spring, a substantial portion of the workforce was required to work from home due to the spread of COVID-19. In fact, between March and May, the number of people in the U.S. working remotely full time quadrupled from 8% to 35%.
Now, at the end of 2020, some people are still working from home, while others are back to working in person — while still, others never stopped. Unemployment in some sectors remains high, interest in remote work has surged and many people have considered or even started new careers to adapt to the current reality.
The world of work has changed and will continue to change — but through it all, Indeed is here to help as your trusted hiring partner. And we’re pleased to see that dedication pay off, as applicant tracking software company TalentNest has named Indeed the No. 1 source of hire in the U.S. in its most recent report. Not only that, Indeed is, on average, the No. 1 source of applications, interviews and hires across North America.
Indeed continues to be the No. 1 source of hire in the U.S.
Since 2017, TalentNest has conducted an annual study to determine the sources of job applications, review ratings and number of hires. The most recent TalentNest study, which was published in October, assessed a year’s worth of user data* across clients in North America to prove that Indeed is, on average, the number one source of applications, interviews and hires across North America.

In the U.S., Indeed is the No. 1 source of hire and delivers 47% of all hires in the country. That’s four times more hires than all other job sites combined — and one-and-a-half times more hires than even internal referrals, a source that very often drives quality candidates.
As for our neighbor to the north, Indeed continues to lead as the No. 1 source of hire in Canada, delivering 64% of all hires in the country. Meanwhile in Mexico, internal referrals beat external job sites as the top source of hire. However, Indeed follows close behind as the No. 1 external source of hire in Mexico.

16 years of putting the job seeker first
For the past 16 years, our mission at Indeed has been to put the job seeker first. Today, Indeed has more than 250 million people searching for jobs every month, and 10 new jobs are added to Indeed every second globally.
We truly believe that what works for the job seeker also works for employers, so we are honored to be named the leading source of hire by TalentNest.
We know these are unusual times for hiring, and as mentioned before — we’re here to help. We’re committed to creating new solutions to make hiring easier for everyone. Indeed provides many options to connect with top candidates, such as Indeed Resume, our resume database of 150 million resumes, or Indeed Hiring Events, which makes it easy for you to hire at scale and do so safely via video interviews.
Earlier this year, Indeed also announced new product features that help employers more quickly identify and hire candidates who are ready to work, and help candidates more easily find remote jobs and information on an employer’s COVID-19 safety guidelines.
We’re humbled to continue leading as the No. 1 job site for offers and hires, and we are excited to continue to help people get jobs around the globe. Thank you to all the employers and job seekers who have been with us on this journey, and we look forward to seeing what the next year has in store.
