Information on monthly active recipients of our service within the EU

Data Claim: Approximately 34.4 million average monthly active recipients of Indeed Ireland Operations Limited’s Service in the EU

Source: Indeed Internal Data, July-December 2025

Reporting Methodology

In calculating the approximate average monthly active recipients of Indeed Ireland Operations Limited’s service in the EU, we used the Unique Visitors figure for users in the EU and de-duplicated that figure for users that were logged in across multiple devices. “Unique Visitors” is defined as the number of unduplicated visits to an Indeed website on a device over the course of a specified time period, and as further defined below:

When a “unique visitor” visits the Indeed site, a first-party internal (IQL) cookie with a random string of numbers and letters is placed in the relevant browser and tracks the “unique visitor’s” activity on Indeed’s site until their browser history is cleared or 5 years has passed.  Indeed then logs visit activity associated with that cookie internally for site performance monitoring and optimization.

In this context, “Indeed Ireland Operations Limited’s service” means the Indeed, SimplyHired and Gigajob websites. It does not include publishers of job advertisements sourced from Indeed, or other sites connecting to our APIs to pull job advertisements to display to their users. In calculating the average, we used the six-month simple moving average from 1 July 2025 – 31 December 2025.

In accordance with Indeed’s Terms of Service, commercial communications are prohibited on our Site. If you would like to declare that the content you have provided to Indeed is or contains commercial communications, you can do so here. Transparency Report

Indeed provides regular transparency updates, detailing the measures we undertake to safeguard our community, our approach to addressing inquiries regarding member data, and information on our moderation practices. Indeed has  released its first Transparency Report dedicated to the Digital Services Act (“DSA”), which can be found here. For comprehensive insights into Indeed’s commitment to transparency, kindly consult our most recent overarching Transparency Report.

Illegal content notice and action mechanism

Users in the EU may report suspected illegal content to Indeed via the Digital Services Act Reporting Portal here. Indeed moderators review each submission in full, and will inform the user who has reported  the content of Indeed’s decision in respect of that content. Users who have reported content will also be given the opportunity to appeal Indeed’s decision.

Complaints handling mechanisms

Users who are unhappy with a decision taken by Indeed in response to a report of suspected illegal content via the Digital Services Act Reporting Portal or a decision taken by Indeed to restrict, remove or disable access to content; to suspend or terminate a service; or to suspend or terminate an account, may submit a complaint. The six-month period begins on the day the user is informed of the decision. We require users to include the following information in their complaint form: email address, reference number, and the specific reasons for the complaint, including why the user disagrees with Indeed’s decision.

Indeed’s global content moderation mechanisms

Indeed’s Trust & Safety team strives to protect job seekers and employers from instances of fraud and quality violations by implementing automatic and manual systems to identify and remove fraudulent accounts and user-generated content that does not meet Indeed’s policies and Terms of Service. Indeed defines fraud as accounts or job postings that target job seekers or employers with malicious actions or law-breaking activities.  Information on all of Indeed’s policies can be found here

Indeed puts rules in place to automatically flag potentially problematic accounts for review by our moderators, and our Trust & Safety team proactively uses various tools and subject matter expertise to manually identify accounts that the automatic system may miss.

Users can also proactively report potentially fraudulent accounts and all other user-generated content on the platform, including job posts, company page content, and messages.  These reports are reviewed by trained moderators.

Indeed also works in the best interest of job seekers by striving to ensure that the jobs posted on our site are of the highest quality possible. In order to be eligible for visibility on the site, postings must offer open jobs (not training opportunities, expired positions, etc.), provide a detailed and accurate description of the role and be free of vulgar or illicit content, in addition to meeting other criteria outlined here.

As with fraudulent accounts, Indeed has triggers in place that automatically flag user-generated content that may not meet our policies and standards for manual moderation. If a posting can be fixed, we will provide the employer with feedback and direct them to the Employer Help Centre to help them do so. Additionally, users can flag any roles they deem problematic through the “report job” link at the bottom of any job posting. We use these reports to continuously improve our policy enforcement.

Indeed’s moderation team is composed of 1000+ external vendor partners and a robust team of over 120 Trust & Safety professionals.  Our moderators, located globally in 12 different countries, support clients and job seekers alike in 27 languages and 186 unique workflows within Indeed’s systems.  These analysts and vendor partners undergo rigorous and specialized training, both prior to beginning work as well as continuous on-the-job training, in order to maintain the integrity of our systems and protect our users through each step of the hiring process.
