At Indeed, we are always exploring new ways to make the job search simpler for job seekers while helping employers connect with qualified candidates.

One challenge we often hear is that submitting applications for jobs can be repetitive and time-consuming. At the same time, employers are rightfully concerned about tools that encourage high-volume, low-relevance applications. We want to help fix this, which is in part why we are testing Apply For Me, a new experience available to a limited number of job seekers in the U.S.

Apply For Me is designed to help job seekers act on relevant opportunities based on the preferences and information they have shared with Indeed, such as their profile, experiences, location, salary expectations and role preferences. The goal is to reduce repetitive application steps and help job seekers connect with opportunities that may be a strong fit.

Just as important, Apply for Me is designed with the employer experience in mind, with the intent of improving signal, while reducing irrelevant applications and noise. By helping job seekers focus on opportunities that are a closer match to their preferences and experience, employers are more likely to receive applications that align to their needs. 

What we’ve seen so far, on average, is that applications submitted through Apply for Me are 3.5x more likely to be a great fit for both the candidate and the employer than a typical application. Indeed data (US)

As part of this limited test, Apply For Me includes several important job seeker controls and guardrails built in:

  • Job seekers remain in control. Apply for Me uses job seeker-provided Profile information to draft application content. Depending on their preferred mode, job seekers can review drafted applications before submitting or opt into a more streamlined experience. 
  • Applications are limited. Apply For Me is not designed to send unlimited applications or encourage a “spray and pray” approach. In fact, it is specifically designed to prevent that with submission caps and safeguards, including pausing applications when a job seeker is no longer active on the platform.
  • Job seekers can manage their activity. They can review applications, update preferences, and provide feedback through their Indeed account.
  • The experience is designed around relevance. Apply For Me uses the information job seekers provide to help identify opportunities that may be a strong fit. And we’re starting out small to ensure that we’re preserving application quality and reducing low-relevance submissions for employers along the way. 

This is still an early test, not a full launch. As with any new technology, we expect to learn as usage evolves. We will continue to monitor trends and insights, while listening to feedback from job seekers and employers as we iterate on the experience.

Our focus remains the same: helping people get jobs and helping employers find the right candidates more efficiently. Apply For Me is one way we are exploring how to make the job search simpler, more relevant and ultimately more effective for both sides of the marketplace.
