New Data from SilkRoad Shows Indeed is Top Source for Hires and Interviews for the Sixth Consecutive Year

Austin, TX (May 31, 2017) – For the sixth time, research from SilkRoad proves that job search engine Indeed is the number one source of external hires and interviews. SilkRoad’s Sources of Hire report for 2017 reveals Indeed delivered more than two times as many hires and interviews than all other branded online sources combined.

“Our laser focus on job seekers and our mission of helping people get jobs delivers results for employers,” said Paul D’Arcy, SVP at Indeed. “Work is such an important part of people’s lives around the world, and our entire business is built around understanding this importance and matching the right employee to the right opportunity.”

According to the SilkRoad report, Indeed delivered 72% of interviews and 65% of hires in 2016 – far outpacing other online sources. That’s seven times more interviews and eight times more hires than LinkedIn. Additionally, Indeed has increased its dominance for both interviews and hires, climbing from 52% of interviews and 58% of hires last year. With 86% of all interviews and 72% of all hires being sourced online, Indeed has solidified its position as the top resource for job seekers and employers.

Indeed was founded over 13 years ago on the principle that every decision the company makes puts the job seeker’s interest first. Today, Indeed has nearly 5,000 employees in 14 countries around the world, addressing unique challenges in different markets.

More than a job search engine, Indeed has over 15 million company reviews and a robust collection of salary data helping to aid the decision process for job seekers.  Indeed also has the number one mobile job app in the world. With more than 90 million resumes posted, candidates can easily apply for jobs from their smart phones with just one click.

Indeed is making job search better by meticulously gathering and organizing massive amounts of data specific to driving positive hiring outcomes.  Data is the fuel that powers its machine learning, and Indeed has the most relevant data to help job seekers find the right opportunities that ultimately lead to hires.

“The bottom line is we are successful when people get hired, and there is nothing else distracting us from this goal,” said D’Arcy. “We believe this focus is why we are recognized as the top source of hires and interviews, and why we are the world’s number one job site.”

SilkRoad uses quantitative methods to analyze source data within its applicant tracking system to rank leading sources each year. The research is based on SilkRoad’s 14 million applications, 655,000 interviews and 329,000 hires. Automatic source tracking is the most accurate data available on the performance of hiring sources.
