AUSTIN, TX (April 8, 2020) —  Indeed, the world’s number one job site, released its third pulse survey today of how Americans workers are coping with the COVID-19 crisis. As most Americans are closing in on a month of social distancing and remote working, concerns about caring for loved ones has ticked up as a top concern – rising six percentage points since last week (51% to 57%).

With many school districts and daycares closed and nursing homes restricting visitors, the reality of managing care for loved ones seems to be setting in for many. “It is becoming clear that there is no real timeline for when this pandemic will be contained and social distancing measures will be relaxed, causing many workers to realize that this balancing act with work and care is going to be a long-term challenge,” said Paul Wolfe, SVP of Global Human Resources at Indeed.

Additional insights from this week’s survey show that despite the $2 trillion stimulus bill, taking a financial hit remained the top concern, and rose in concern for workers this week, up to 60% from 56%. As COVID-19 cases rise around the country, contracting the virus in the workplace rose as a concern as well, up seven points from 46% to 53%.

To understand the evolving needs and anxieties of employees and job seekers right now, Indeed will survey 1,000 American workers weekly to determine their most pressing concerns with their careers as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. New results will be released every Wednesday over the next several weeks.

Full survey results below, including the previous two weeks of data. For more information on this survey, please contact Kristen Gehring at kgehring@indeed.com. For tips and guides on handling work and job search during today’s pandemic, please see Indeed’s special COVID-19 Career Guide

Survey Methodology:
