At GreenStone Farm Credit Services, we're seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Associate Tax Accountant to be the cornerstone of our exceptional service for our GreenStone customers. This role stands as a vital pillar within our team, directly contributing to our Tax & Accounting operations. As a Tax Accountant at our organization, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact by fostering customer relationships and collaborating closely with our dedicated association staff.
Working Hours: Enjoy a consistent schedule of 8am-4:30pm, Monday – Friday in the office, providing you with a stable work-life balance.
Location: Based in our East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Schoolcraft or Little Chute, WI office you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the local community while being an integral part of our organization.

Day in the life of a Tax Accountant
Perform tax projections and prepare/review tax returns.
Process payroll tax payments and prepare payroll tax forms.
Review and provide quality control for payroll & bookkeeping work performed by the Tax & Accounting Assistant, intern, or temp.
Actively and aggressively market tax & accounting services to current customers
Assist in training and guidance for tax & accounting staff.
Providing excellent internal and external customer service will be at the core of your daily interactions.
This role will also consist of daily customer interactions, such as answering incoming calls and in office customer meetings.
What Experience can you Bring?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or tax planning & preparation is required.
CPA or Enrolled Agent designation is preferred.
Must pass the Farm Credit Income Tax Certification Exam after beginning employment.
Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles.

Strong computer skills specifically in Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite (Practice, GoFileRoom, UltraTax, Accounting, Virtual office, NetClient) and QuickBooks.
Strong leadership qualities and demonstrated initiative.
Technical experience with individual, partnership and corporate tax returns, tax research, and tax software.
