Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Cashier/Cook to join our vibrant food service team! In this dual role, you will be the friendly face greeting customers, processing transactions efficiently, and delivering exceptional customer service. Simultaneously, you will prepare delicious food items, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ensure a smooth kitchen operation. Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently
• Prepare a variety of food items following established recipes and safety standards
• Handle cash transactions, give correct change, and manage cash handling procedures with integrity
• Upsell menu items to enhance sales opportunities and promote specials or new products
• Maintain cleanliness in food prep areas, dining spaces, and cashier stations in accordance with sanitation guidelines
• Assist with food safety practices including proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls
• Support food industry standards by bussing tables, restocking supplies, and ensuring quick service delivery
• Manage time effectively to handle high-volume periods while maintaining quality standards
• Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues in both front-of-house and kitchen roles

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or food service is highly preferred, especially in quick service or fast-food restaurants
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
• Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food handling safety protocols
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
• Experience working in a café, retail grocery store, or similar food industry setting is a plus
• Knowledge of sanitation practices and proper kitchen hygiene standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bussing tables or stocking supplies
