Great peers, terrible compensation, work before life attitude
Accountant (Former Employee) – Sugar Land, TX – July 22, 2012
I really enjoyed working at Schlumberger. I had a great team and a wonderful boss. It made going to work very enjoyable. I didn't, however, like that many in upper management expected you to put work before your life. Some processes were in need of improvement. Deadlines were rarely met. On top of everything, compensation was extremely low compared to the market. I left because I was barely getting by financially and was unhappy at the thought of putting work before my personal life (i believe in family first).
Apparently, things have been getting better since I left. Some new managers have been placed in my group and over my group. Some employees have received raises (still below market). A few of my old coworkers have left since I left or are toying with the idea.
teamwork, atmosphere, great peers
compensation, work before personal life, overtime
