Great place to start or end a career
Applications Engineering (Current Employee) – austin, tx – August 12, 2014
NI is a great company with great people, but is muddled with excessive mid-level management and poor compensation.
You are given a lot of freedom to learn new things and move horizontally throughout the company. There is excessive mid-level management, an absurd amount of "kool-aid" and corporate marketing cheerleading, and poor upwards mobility. Compensation is ok, but does not move much and is a source of much friction within the company. Basically, you are told that the culture makes up for the lack in pay/bonuses...
Work-life balance in outstanding, the people are great, and I enjoy going to work. However, after several years, your salary begins to lose out to inflation and it no longer is an economical place to work.
NI is a great resume builder and first/last job.
work-life balance, culture, learn new things and gain experience
going through growing pains so lots of change for the sake of change with no real target, poor compensation
