The Orchard City is a friendly relaxed place to work with the public.
Building Attendant / Field Attendant (Current Employee) – 1 W. Campbell Ave. – June 26, 2013
As a Building Attendant I work with clients planning special events at the community center as a liaison to establish the desired room layout, day of event scheduling & special needs for events. During the event I provide onsite support for the customers and their events, providing the requested layouts which may include, chairs, tables, portable or fixed AV equipment, modular dance floors, barricades, canopies, road cones, garbage bins, tents and banners, as well as any other items requested by the clients. In the close to 3 years of experience gained from the City of Campbell I have honed my face to face communication skills, learned to listen to the needs and concerns of the public and react in the respectful and appropriate manner expected of a representative of the city. I have learned to examine my work environment and find ways to streamline and improve work processes and services offered by the City. The majority of my co-workers are students like myself, we are all students who enjoy working for the city due to the experience rich work environment, high caliber of management, as well as flexible class friendly schedule. The hardest part of the job is creating solutions to unusual problems during after-hours shifts when there are no directors or supervisors present to provide assistance or suggestions. Conversely, the most enjoyable part of the job would have to be being able to work outside. Customers seem to be much more optimistic and charismatic when the sun is shining on them.
Flexible schedule. Great coworkers. Safe work environment. Experienced and professional management.
There are no benefits for part time employees.
