Unorganized atmosphere, and lack of professionalism.
Ramp Agent (Current Employee) – Windsor Locks, CT – August 7, 2019
My first warehouse job, but I've talked to coworkers who have worked in others beforehand. They all say this job is the most unclean, (warehouse is atrociously dirty) and unorganized warehouse they've worked in. All the leads and supervisors are kids in their 20's. The favoritism that is allowed is staggering. The more "ethnic" people of the warehouse stick to themselves and trash talk about others in Spanish. Their lack of work ethic is truly something.
The higher management must enjoy making their employees miserable. During the freezing cold of winter, you are not allowed in the breakroom, (even when there is no work to do) forcing us to huddle under the one heater in the warehouse that works. Same goes for the sweltering heat in the summer. Unless its lunchtime (which they make us take only 3 hours into our 8.5 shifts so that we're all available when the work comes) you are not allowed in the air conditioned breakroom either. This sort of cruel behavior cause a coworker to pass out on the ramp. Treating us inhumanly must make them feel better about having to pay us for doing nothing while we wait for the trucks to arrive.
The Benefits they offer are a joke. You're better off getting state. There are no sick days and there's no such thing as annual raises. You can make the same amount an hour if not more, scrubbing dishes in an air conditioned restaurant depending where you live.
