When the recruiter initially called me, I asked how many calls I would take as a Claim Associate in a day. He told me around 14. Well, this was untrue....maybe 14 an hour.
During training our team asked the trainer what our daily schedule would look like. He stated we would transition from doing new mail, new claims and phones throughout the day. It is more like phones all day long. I did not sign up for a call center job and this is exactly what the job is. And for only $17.25 an hour. 1/3 of our class quit within 2 weeks of on the floor training. Not to mention automatically being given the 11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. shift without shift differential.
I have great benefits and an excellent knowledge of how insurance works. State Farm is definitely a respectable company, now that I have the opportunity to see how they treat their customers. The best thing is that I am able to stand behind State Farm because of my belief that they are a reputable company and are generally fair to either the insureds or claimants.
