Great benefits and a good balance for work / life
Consultant (Current Employee) – Cincinnati, OH – March 20, 2014
Speaking from a perspective of coming from an Agency lifestyle, Sogeti is an alright place to work. The majority of the work is going to vary for consultant to consultant, based upon your specialty and skill-set. Additionally, since you are a consultant, there is going to be a variation of the type of client you work with as well. In my experience, I've been fortunate enough to work with a client that is pretty easy going - so it's hard to speak about sogeti when most of my time spent is with the client.
Sogeti does have one of the best benefit packages I've seen to date, especially when it comes to the 401k plan. The kicker is that in order to take full advantage of the package, you have to be with the company for a minimum of 3 years.
The downside of being a consultant is that you can be put on the bench - meaning, your contract with your client is finished and you are waiting to get another client. It's partially your job to market yourself to your managers and ensure that you get another client quickly. If you are on the bench too long, you will most likely be let go from the company (usually 2-3 months of bench time will result in you being let go). Personally, I have never experienced this, but have heard it happening to others.
