The hardest part of this job was the stress associated with working with families who struggled to pay bills. I learned a ton about personal finance, housing issues and general consumer issues. The job brings tons of valuable knowledge and its hard to find this information from other sources! The management team works really hard to provide a supportive and engaging environment. The most enjoyable part of the job is the culture and the co-workers. People complain about the salary, but the organization is very transparent about what they pay, so we all knew what it looked like when we joined. People occasional complain about the culture--they want google style happy hours every week--but most employees understand we are a non profit and really enjoy it and feel recognized and appreciated. Management works hard to develop employees and reward people who are dedicated and make a strong effort. I feel lucky to be here.
Supportive leadership, bagel Tuesdays, great benefits and time off, great co-workers and great professional and personal development opportunity.
stressful work (sad), non profit salary scale.
