Target is a great workplace
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) – Leesburg, VA – November 5, 2012
Target is a very good place to work when starting off a career in life, it has very good starting positions and is a very accessible place when in need of a job.
A typical day at work is filled with excellent, quality people and many task to keep you busy knowing you are doing something to earn you living instead of staying at home without much to do without a salary. Co-workers are friendly and supervisors are very concerned about employees personal challenges, this is motivational in lots of ways and help create company loyalty. I learned a lot about the fluctuation that super markets go through and how they strive to keep in balance employees payments and employee retention rate. I learned how to work very well in team environments and to interact more with people, this helped me being tolerant when working hours went away as water sliding through your fingers. The hardest part of the job is the monotony of the tasks given to entry level workers, the lack of knowledge handed out is impressive, even among professionals that work at target, the restrictions to advance surpass by far the opportunities to earn even more responsibilities with the same payment. The most enjoyable part of the job is the contact with others and the diversity among quality people that you encounter. Customer service, when done for the correct reasons, leave behind excellent human relationships as a compensation and a great network of people to relate with.
great team members, great place for a temporary entry level job
chances to advance are minimum even as you take into account previous education and work experience
