Working at the Hilton was very rewarding for me. It was a big change from working in restaurants as I was managing a department that included 1 restaurant, 2 bars, room service, and our banquet operations. I learned a lot from my immediate manager and my GM about the hotel industry. Our hotel itself was the #1 wedding destination in Brevard County and I had a great time working with our banquet staff to executive amazing events.
One of the parts of the operation that was difficult to adjust to was the fact that there are so many different departments in the hotel. Often I felt that there was not enough communication between our departments to make the operation more streamlined.
