Every location is going to be different experience
Front Desk Associate (Former Employee) – Brandon, FL – January 17, 2019
I enjoyed working for this company, mostly because this particular red roof inn had an amazing manager and owners. Saw all types of people most often than not really rough people. (Homeless , druggies). But there would be workers sent from companies and people all over the world that would come too. I met amazing individuals from all types of backgrounds. It is a Hotel so they are typically an attractive place for drugs and prostitution unfortunately and this hotel was not the exception. Cops were seen many times. Like I said I got pretty blessed with this job because people above me were so down to earth and it felt like family instead of coworkers. Definitely got tougher skin after working here. Security on fri & sat. Work Schedule was perfect for my school schedule and ever since I started I had fulltime hours and got a 2$ raise after 6mths. Being the only person at the front desk for 8hrs is pretty tough especially having to leave to answer many of the guest needs since this location did not have anyone from housekeeping or maintenance stay after 4pm. My shift from 3pm-11pm. Weekends were pretty much always hectic and hardest because it was busy, between running up and down the stairs to bring guests towels, sheets or whatever else they needed, coming back with a line in front of the door and phone ringing off the hook once I was back in the lobby. Having constant communication with manager through out the shift definitely helped b/c they had system at home. I ended up having a domestic issue and became self-employed after. I will always remember my first hotel job at red roof inn because in the end I learned many valuable life lessons.
