Hilton is a career, not a job.
Front Office Cross Trained (Current Employee) – Dallas, TX – July 23, 2019
Working for Hilton is a great career long term, especially if you make it to a manager/ supervisor position. If you need a job to pay bills, do not apply. You will be praised for one second, then ridiculed when you do something wrong. I have worked for Hilton less than a year. During which I have seen many contradictions within hotel management. I saw an employee win employee of the month. Then 3 days later fired for tackling a guest because the guest was hitting his wife multiple times in the lobby. He can never work for a Hilton property again (he stated after his HR meeting).
Now, anyone can pick and choose to highlight a companies negatives like I just did. Negativity is easy to find, although looking at it from an overall set of mind Hilton is a great company to work for, they stand for the guest, Hilton empowers employees to make any situation they face to be resolved, and they highly encourage employees to travel, either that being doing an exchange program with many different work positions, or just to travel. This past year, May 2019, I traveled to Europe for a month using my PTO, and the travel benefits Hilton has for employees. I went to London, Paris, Germany, and Switzerland. Now before you go "That probably because you're rich," fat chance! The Hilton team member travel benefits helped out A-LOT! When I came back my co-workers wanted to hear of my travels, talk about what places to visit so that they too can enjoy themselves.
Every job/career has its ups and downs, that's just life. What you do with what you are given is all up to you. Who know you may or may not enjoy working for Hilton, all it takes is a click of a mouse to start.
