Night Part-time Safety/Training Supervisor (Former Employee) – Mesquite, TX – May 1, 2014
Training and testing employees throughout the hub on OSHA safety standards. Weekly new-hire orientation. Walking the hub, paying close attention to employee safety compliance or lack thereof.
I learned much about safety in the work place, as well as how to work with and, to a small extent, manage part of a work place.
There was quite a bit of confusion, it seemed among the "upper" management on my shift. It was a hectic environment, though.
I enjoyed working with other part-time supervisors.
We would have occasional cook-outs during the shift to promote safety and retention. That was enjoyable.
The hardest part was surviving on a 6-hour per night salary while work an 8-hour a night position.
