Overworked and Underappreciated
Graphic Designer/Production Artist (Former Employee) – Rochester, MN – June 4, 2019
I worked at Minuteman Press for over 5 years. In my time I have learned a lot of skills and got to meet a lot of customers, and had quite a bit of fun. It was great over the years meeting new people and designing their projects. However the management was not the best and would belittle you and make you feel like Dirt if you made a small mistake. Basically grind you into dirt for selecting the wrong paper type or not putting away the paper. Management will ruin any fun that you are trying to have.
The lack of benefits and vacation time really hurts when trying to raise a family and take time off. Like I said overworked and underappreciated is putting it mildly.
It is a good starting job for those looking to get into the graphic design and print field. Nothing more as there is absolutely no room for advancement as you are working in a small shop of 2 to 3 people.
