Typical day consisted of ensuring guest satisfaction; supervising daily and nightly shifts; managing food, labor, beverage and controllable costs. I learned the basics of P&L reports and shaped my interpersonal skills. Upper management and coworkers were exceptional. The hardest part of the job was the extensive commute. The most enjoyable aspect was being able to focus on one area of the restaurant, the dining room/bar, and striving to excel in managing it.
