Good company with a great mission
Senior Store Manager (Current Employee) – Goodwill Central Texas – October 9, 2017
The day to day work sounds easy enough. Stand at the door and accept donations. Sort clothing into good and bad piles. But the reality is that it is a high stress environment which requires a certain mindset to be able to be successful. The best part of the job is the mission work. Seeing people who's lives have been changed for the better through the work you do every day is a great feeling. However I do believe Goodwill should be doing more to support their employees with a livable salary. 8-10 an hour is not enough money to live off of in Austin. And while the company's ambitions are high, opening up schools and providing job skills training, some of that could be put on the back burner to give their employees a livable wage.
Mission work, vacation time
Run on minimal labor, threats if production goals are not met despite call outs.
