Job Title: Vice President of Global Asset Sales
Reports to: CEO
Position: The VP of Global Asset Sales is responsible for establishing sales targets that help us to achieve our strategic and aggressive growth metric while delivering and achieving the Company’s revenue goals. This position is also responsible for developing strategic sales plans that will promote sales growth, increase shareholder value, and help us to retain our high standards of customer satisfaction while ultimately deliver value to our partners. The VP of Global Asset Sales will provide leadership, innovation, and dedication to inspire teammates, bring new product ideas internally, and produce ROI-driven programming to rights holders and sponsors externally. The candidate must be self-motivated, reliable and lead by example.
Responsibilities:
- Play the key role in developing our Company’s sports digital media sales strategy, new sellable assets and execution by structuring, negotiating and closing revenue generating transactions with key and potential partners all over the globe.
- Oversee revenue growth through targeting and closing transactions with international and domestic rights holders.
- Be accountable for achieving Company sponsorship revenue objectives and educating customer sponsorship sales teams on selling digital sponsorship assets.
- Be the person in our Company most knowledgeable and conversant with sponsorship trends & best practices, in addition to the competitive landscape and digital media strategies of the 15 largest industry segments active in sports spending on a national and international level.
- Be responsible for identifying opportunities for new business through ongoing research, partner contact, high-level industry networking & strategic analysis of products and marketplace trends.
- Work with our marketing and design group to create and deliver world-class presentations to win and retain business.
Qualifications:
- Complete understanding of the sports business and digital sponsorship landscape
- At least 8-10 years of channel development / sponsorship sales experience
- A demonstrable and verifiable record of accomplishment developing key business relationships to accelerate sales and maintain customers over time
- Experience in building revenue streams and effective sales teams from the ground up
- Demonstrably strategic thinker with an innovative and creative mind set
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently
- Communicate effectively with senior management counterparts
- Comfortable building and sustaining “C” level executive relationships
- Propensity to excel in a startup environment
- Be prepared to travel 50%+ of the time
- Hold a BA or BS degree
Skill Requirements:
- Experience in strategic sales planning and execution
- Knowledge of sponsorship industry specific contracting and negotiating
- Knowledge of sales and sponsorship quota and metrics, and revenue expectations
- Professional written, verbal and interpersonal skills a must
- Understanding of industry specific terminology
- Ability to manage, inspire and motivate sales teams
- Ability to participate and facilitate group meetings
- Ability to recruit, supervise and evaluate staff
