Full job description

SUMMARY: The Quality Control Specialist regulates the quality of our products through testing procedures and inspection.

Swing Shift & Graveyard Positions

Sign On Bonus: $2000.00

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knows and adheres to the rules of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Knows and adheres to the safety procedures; Reports safety concerns to Packaging Manager.
  • Moisture tests products and records information.
  • A/W tests and records information.
  • Takes temperatures of products and records information.
  • Responsible for OP sanitations.
  • Responsible for ATP testing.
  • Takes final PH and records information.
  • Calibrates PH probe, A/W meters, and thermometers (hot and cold).
  • Performs weight test on moisture analyzers.
  • Verifies spices.
  • Inspects equipment from washroom.
  • Checks cooler and freezer temperatures.
  • Fill in as needed in other departments or shifts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
