Duties

• Safely operate various commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated box trucks, and other freight carriers.
• Load and unload cargo efficiently using equipment such as handtrucks and pallet jacks when necessary, ensuring proper handling of freight.
• Navigate assigned routes confidently, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify safety standards are met before each journey.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs for route driving, load details, and delivery confirmations when required.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance reports and coordinate repairs when needed to keep fleet operational.

Skills

• Proven experience in delivery driving with a focus on route management and cargo handling.
• Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols.
• Ability to operate trucks confidently and handle various vehicle types such as refrigerated box trucks.
• Skilled in load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods; familiar with freight handling best practices. Ability to lift boxes that could weigh 80 pounds if necessary.
• Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes for timely deliveries.
• Physical stamina to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections regularly. Ability to lift boxes that could weigh 80 pounds if necessary.
