Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team, bringing expertise in project cost analysis and budgeting for commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates by reviewing blueprints, managing material and labor costs, and collaborating closely with suppliers and project teams. Your proactive approach will help ensure projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment.
• Conduct material cost estimating from blueprints and review construction drawings to determine quantities and requirements accurately.
• Develop comprehensive bid proposals by pricing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes while ensuring competitive yet profitable bids.
• Collaborate with clients through effective negotiation to finalize contracts and scope of work that align with project budgets.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating with project managers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of accurate estimates.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to identify variances early and implement corrective actions for cost management.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents to ensure precise estimation of resources needed on-site.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities, including spreadsheets, bid logs, and correspondence related to pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
• Excellent skills in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction documents accurately.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for creating spreadsheets and reports essential for estimation processes.
• Knowledge of construction management software systems used for project tracking and cost control purposes.
• Effective negotiation skills combined with strong client communication abilities to secure favorable terms.
• Construction site experience or hands-on understanding of construction processes enhances estimation accuracy.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
