Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing housekeeping and laundry services to Terrace residents and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. We are looking for full-time employees for this role.

Duties

• Manage laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and personal items for residents.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors
• Follow established safety protocols while performing housekeeping duties
• Maintain assigned areas in an orderly and attractive manner
• Portray a friendly, positive, and helpful attitude when greeting and interacting with our residents, visitors, and family members
• Ensure the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times
• Document and report services completed for residents using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
• Document and report any changes in resident’s condition according to facility policies
• Document and report incidents or unusual occurrences according to facility policies
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment for both residents, guests, and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
• May be asked to assist with Resident dining: setting up tables, plating food for consumption following proper portion control (may include cutting up meat), helping residents eat when necessary, and bussing tables. May be asked to assist with delivery of meals to resident rooms.

Experience

• Must be 18 years of age or older (Required)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team (Required)
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public (Required)
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly (Required)
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively (Required)
• Ability to pass a background check (Required)
• Experience working with older persons with varying mental and physical abilities (Preferred)
• Experience with housekeeping or laundry in a commercial type setting such as hotel or hospital (Preferred)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• Current State of Alaska Food Worker Card (Preferred)

Physical Demands

• Balance and proper body mechanics
• Walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting approximately 50 lbs
• Sit and/or stand for up to seven hours per day

Work Conditions

• Work in a well-lighted, well-ventilated work area
• Subject to frequent interruptions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
