Job Overview

Happy Tails is seeking responsible, compassionate Independent Contractors for In-Home Pet Sitting.

In this role, you will stay in clients’ homes to provide comfort, routine, and companionship for pets while owners travel. Contractors enjoy flexible job selection, independence, and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with pets and clients.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not an employee role.

Services & Duties

Guardian Care

• Stay in the client’s home to follow the pet’s regular routine
• Provide companionship, feeding, meds, playtime, and potty breaks
• Maintain a presence in the home during the day and overnight
• You may leave briefly for personal needs (up to 1 hours per outing, max 2 hours per day)

Pay: $90/day + additional pet fees + tips + holiday pay

Home Stay Pet Care (Most In-Demand)

• Stay in the client’s home to follow the pet’s regular routine
• Provide companionship, feeding, meds, playtime, and potty breaks
• Maintain a presence in the home during the day and overnight
• You may leave briefly for personal needs (up to 3 hours per outing, max 6 hours per day)

Pay: $70/day + additional pet fees + tips + holiday pay

Overnight Pet Sitting (8 PM–8 AM)

• Stay overnight to provide comfort and safety
• Ideal for clients with anxious pets or pets needing nighttime consistency
• Optional paid daytime drop-by visits may be added if available

Pay: $40/night

• $40/night for Overnight care

Requirements

• Must live in or near our service areas:

New Albany, Westerville, Worthington, Dublin, Columbus, Grove City, Hilliard, Upper Arlington, Grandview, Gahanna

• Reliable, insured transportation
• Able to stay in client homes for extended periods
• Smartphone required for app use
• Strong communication and reliability
• Ability to follow client instructions and routines
• Must pass a background check
• Prior pet care experience preferred
