BAIN CAPITAL INSURANCE OVERVIEW
Bain Capital Insurance is a leading global private equity investor focused specifically on the insurance industry. Our insurance private equity business combines experienced, senior team connectivity and the broader Bain Capital platform to identify attractive risk-adjusted return opportunities across the insurance industry with a focus on control or significant negative control. We seek to collaborate with leading insurance businesses and management teams to unlock value and drive innovation across the insurance industry, specializing in insurance investing strategies that span the entire value chain and growth spectrum – from catalyzing transformational change, creating new platforms, and stepping into capacity-driven dislocations, to partnering with industry participants to meet their long term strategic and investment return targets.
Our investment process is characterized by detailed business and financial analysis and a culture of vigorous debate. We are a small, close-knit team that combines a consulting-based approach to industry, competitor, and business analysis with an in-depth examination of a target company or asset’s financial performance and capital structure. Our model is based on creating strong partnerships with management and other key stakeholders to add strategic and operational value to drive attractive returns.

The Bain Capital Insurance investment team is comprised of 31 U.S. team members and 7 U.K. team members. As a small team, each team member takes on a high degree of responsibility across the investment process. Team members interact regularly with external advisors, management teams, and the investment committee to conduct research, review and diligence potential transactions, and manage existing positions. We are currently hiring an Associate to join our team in Boston.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong academic credentials (BS/BA from highly regarded institution) and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience
- 2-3 years of experience with an investment banking or venture capital/private equity firm
- Strong interest in insurance and financial institutions
- A fundamental, analytically driven approach to investing with strong analytical/modeling capability
