Fabrication Associate
Location: Groveport, OH
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (9‑month duration)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Lunch: 30‑minute unpaid lunch
Overtime: Possible; occasional Saturdays
Environment: Non‑climate controlled (can get very hot; not air‑conditioned)

Job Description

The Fabrication Associate supports daily pipe fabrication operations in a fast‑paced industrial environment. This role involves operating fabrication equipment, handling materials, performing quality inspections, and assisting with pipe preparation and assembly.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment, operating machinery, and performing physical tasks while maintaining safety, accuracy, and productivity standards.

Must‑Haves

• 6–8 months of recent machinery experience, including:
• Band saws
• Automatic welding machines
• Mechanical or industrial background
• Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure
• Experience using gauges for quality checks
• 3–6 months of forklift experience

Responsibilities: Fabrication & Material Handling

• Move loose or bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard
• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles)
• Maintain organized work supplies and staging areas

Machine Operation

• Set up and maintain pipe fabrication equipment
• Measure, record, and calculate pipe lengths accurately
• Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches
• Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines

Quality & Safety

• Perform quality checks using gauges and measuring tools
• Follow all safety procedures for fabrication, cutting, stacking, and shipping pipe
• Inspect and maintain forklift equipment
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA and company guidelines

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong math skills for measurements and product calculations
• Knowledge of safe work practices in a pipe yard or industrial environment
• Experience with machinery used for cutting and threading pipe (training provided)
• Results‑focused mindset in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Basic computer skills for automated machinery

Preferred Experience

Experience with:

• Pipe threaders
• Roll groove machines
• Plasma cutting equipment
• Pneumatic banders
• Fire sprinkler pipe fabrication

Ability to handle pipe sizes ranging from ½" to 10".
