Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our first shift in the fabrication dept. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate and set up CNC machinery, including vertical and horizontal mills, to produce custom small run details used in our automation systems. The ideal candidate will bring experience in CNC programming, machine setup, and quality inspection, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Haas or Fanuc controls is preferred.

1st shift – Full time – Benefits – Competitive Pay

Responsibilities:

• Operate, set up, and program Vertical and Horizontal CNC Mills using CNC G-code programming and CAM software.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings with precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
• Perform machine setup, calibration, and tooling changes to optimize machining processes.
• Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, perform manual machining when necessary, and make adjustments to maintain production flow.
• Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection results, and machine maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on blueprint interpretation, mechanical knowledge application, and process improvements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED is required
• Minimum of 1 years prior experience in a CNC Fabrication environment, documented training accepted in lieu of experience
• Familiarity with the Metric system
• Understanding of machine setups for vertical and horizontal mills
• Excellent attention to detail, with an eye for quality
• Must possess troubleshooting skills in order to work through basic machine operations, and quality issues
• Must be able to use measuring devices including scales, calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
• Certifications or training is a plus, but is not required

Skills

• Fanuc or Haas operating system experience
• Experience with CNC programming languages including M-code and G-code for precise control of machining operations.
• Proficiency in general blueprint reading skills.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
• Skilled in the use of machining tools, hand tools, power tools, grinders, and manual machining equipment like lathes and mills.
• Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality control.
• Familiarity with CNC quality inspection procedures and measurement techniques for metal machining parts.
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets.
• Experience with machine setup on CNC milling machines in a custom manufacturing environment.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
