Full job description

The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We currently have an open opportunity for a Material Handler IV - Inventory Control available in our Distribution Center in Columbus, Ohio. This position directs & audits work activities of warehouse workers to ensure efficiency, safety, on-time, and quality assurance standards.

Duties include, but are not limited to

  • Support management of workflow, LTL or pack line;
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System to create and sort batches of orders, communicate order fulfillment issues to sales team, resolve system batching issues, organize workload for the DC floor;
  • Assign Tasks;
  • Monitor E-mail box;
  • Follow through on requests from upper management, sales, etc.;
  • Uses WMS and SAP to identify discrepancies;
  • Miscellaneous Inventory Rectification/Identification;
  • Conduct Quality and Safety Audits;
  • Train associates on proper procedures, practices, and equipment;
  • Utilize RF and/or pick label to verify item/quantity/location to pick and/or receive·
  • Pass all safety checks and fork lift certifications on all equipment and complete daily operator checklists;
  • Measure, weigh and count products and materials;
  • Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools;
  • Properly operate multiple pieces of equipment including stock chasers, order pickers, stand up and sit down fork lifts, turret trucks;
  • Validate quantity, quality, and model number of product;
  • Utilizing shipment software;
  • Maintain an incident and accident free driving history

Education and Required Skills:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.
  • 1-2 experience leading a team or function
  • 1-2 years inventory control and WMS experience
  • Preferred: SAP and Korber experience
