Base Pay $16 to $17 per hour + $3 hour in tips

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Closing Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing and finishing meals at the end of the day, ensuring all dishes meet our quality standards and safety protocols. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, experienced in high-volume kitchen environments, and eager to contribute to a smooth closing process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen ready for the next day.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finish menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching stations, and braising units.
  • Maintain food safety standards by following sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices during food production.
  • Assist in meal preparation for dinner service, catering events, or special functions as needed.
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated for freshness and safety.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment at the end of each shift to uphold health regulations.
  • Support team members with food production tasks such as grilling, braising, poaching, or other cooking techniques requiring knife skills and culinary expertise.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality is highly preferred; experience in fine dining or high-volume kitchens is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures.
  • Skilled in various cooking methods including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation.
  • Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food handling practices.
  • Ability to work independently during closing hours while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food production techniques required for high-quality meal finishing.
