Job Summary
Under direction of Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager, individual will have knowledge of manufacturing and packing equipment. Be able to repair minor building structures. Must be familiar with hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC’s. Plumbing, welding, and electrical experience preferred. Activities can include parts inventory and using M/S Windows to record PM’s and other Maintenance activities. This individual will also assist in leading other maintenance technicians, responsible for day-to-day assignments, monitoring projects, and communicating all aspects of the maintenance operations to the Plant Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install new machinery, overhaul equipment, and rebuild and fabricate parts as required.
- Carry out electric and/or mechanical repairs and inspections as required to ensure equipment runs reliably in production
- Consistently maintain company safety and cleanliness standards in the production environment.
- Assist maintenance personnel with plant maintenances as needed
- Maintenance/repair of building (utility, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, masonry, etc.)
- Monitor safety standards and complete scheduled inspections for all machines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assist with installation of capital equipment and electrical wiring systems in a safe, timely and competent manner.
- Participate in various lean manufacturing activities to improve products, reduce waste, or learn new skills or operations.
- Keep work area in clean and orderly condition, complying with established 6S standards.
Job Qualifications:
- Required to build, repair, and maintain high speed packaging equipment and conveyor systems.
- Ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and can also multi-task and prioritize.
- Must be able to communicate and handle conflict in a professional manner.
- Must have basic computer skills
- Required to repair pumps, gears, fans, compressors.
- Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, operation manuals, preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot guideline
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics (both electrical and mechanical), and programmable logic controls.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic system experience
- Required to maintain the everyday facility needs.
- Experience in welding, troubleshooting and electrical is required.
- Able to work flexible hours at times, when needed.
- Monitor On-Site repair contractors.
- Bending/twisting waist and neck, up to 2 hours per day (interruptive)
- Standing or sitting, up to 10 hours per day (interruptive)
